We’re glad you’re thinking about joining us for one of our services. We know going to a new place can be intimidating, so we’ll do our best to let you know what to expect.
We care about children at Citadel Square. We have age appropriate children’s classes for infants through age 12, and youth group for ages 13 and up. We take our children’s safety very seriously. All our workers have undergone background checks and have been members of our church for at least 6 months.
What to wear:
We don’t have a dress code, so feel free to wear what you are comfortable in. You will find everything from dresses and suits, to shirts and jeans among our members.
We meet in downtown Charleston at 328 Meeting Street. Click here for directions.
We have two parking lots. Our Calhoun Street lot has parking spaces specifically for guest use. If you park in this lot, you will enter the building at our Welcome Center, where you can get information and be escorted to a small group Bible study or to worship. You may also park in our Henrietta Street lot if the Calhoun lot is full. Simply continue driving around the rear of the church building and cross over to the Henrietta Street parking lot. There is an entrance to the church on that side of the building as well. Greeters at the door will point you to the Welcome Center.
Please note: If you have mobility problems such as difficulty climbing stairs or are wheelchair bound, you will want to park in the Calhoun Street parking lot, where there is handicap parking and a ramp that provides access to our building.
If you arrive for Sunday morning bible study, the entryway is on the Calhoun side of our building, and a greeter should be nearby to welcome you. When you enter the door you will see a table of snacks (help yourself). Just to your right, through the double doors, will be our Welcome Desk. Another greeter will be standing behind the counter. Let them know you are joining us for the first time, and they will give you a Welcome Card and show you where to go.
If you’re coming for our Celebration Service, you may enter in the doors on either side of the church building, or through our front doors which overlook Marion Square. Greeters should be close by and if you have any questions they are ready and willing to help.
We gather to glorify God by celebrating what He has done in and through us during the week. While we don’t follow a specific format, at every service we praise God through song, have opportunity to share a testimony of God’s work, and have a time of bible teaching. After the message, we respond to God through song, giving, and ultimately by going out and living what we have heard, learned, and experienced. Our music is both hymns and praise songs.
We really care about connecting with you, and sitting in a service with a bunch of people you don’t know isn’t the best way to make friends, so you may have someone invite you out to lunch afterwards. If you already know you are available for lunch after a Sunday service, we would like to send you the name of the person(s) who will be going with you. Just send us an email and we will respond.
